David Yellowhorse, a well-known and respected Navajo artist has been creating beautiful works of art for Buck Knives for many years. A fourth generation silversmith, David creates custom handle work in the tribal tradition on many types of knives. Buck typically releases two to five David Yellowhorse limited editions each year. The first in 2011 is the 113 "Wild Mustangs" Classic Skinner. Limited to 250 pieces.
The handle is embellished with finely hand-detailed inlays of turquoise, gold vein bloody jasper, black jet and nickel silver. The nickel silver inlay portrays a trio of wild mustangs in front of an Arizona Mountain range at setting sun. David has further enhanced the knife by stippling the brass bolsters to create a traditional Navajo motif. The 3-1/8" drop point blade is mirror polished 420HC stainless at 56-58 Rc., with David's signature on the reverse.
